Background & Business Activities

LB Services, LLC was organized in 1999 and provides professional consulting & engineering services primarily directed at the energy, power & utility markets. The key focus is on identifying and implementing cost effective energy strategies & projects with an emphasis on environmentally friendly & sustainable impacts

The company addresses both commercial & industrial operations with a wide range of activities including energy management & planning, efficiency upgrades, energy audits, on-site & emergency power supply projects, a variety of CHP - cogeneration options, renewable power and green energy options, fuel & utility contracts, deregulation issues, energy & process integration, HVAC, environmental impacts and overall site sustainability assessment. In addition, LB Services provides client support for coordinating ESCO and Energy Performance Contracts as well as implementing site plans for benchmarking, targeting and certifying facilities for various energy & sustainability programs.

LB Services is a proud partner of the US EPA’s ENERGY STAR® Program, the EPA’s Combined Heat & Power Partnership, and the DOE’s Save Energy Now Program. LB Services is headed up by its principal consultant, Louis Braquet, PE, who has over 30 years experience in the industry. Mr. Braquet is a nationally recognized professional engineer (PE) holding numerous global energy industry certifications including Certified Energy Manager (CEM), certified Green Building Engineer (GBE), Professional Cogeneration Certification (CCP), and is a Certified Distributed Generation Professional. In addition, he has authored numerous articles in global publications and professional journals.

PROFESSIONAL PROFILE

Mr. Braquet has over 30 years direct experience working with energy, power and utility operations including over 20 years working for large public utilities (Louisiana Power & Light, New Orleans Public Service, and Entergy Corporation) in various engineering and management positions. His professional experience includes all aspects of power generation, energy utilization, energy & utility engineering. He has earned numerous professional certifications and citations pertaining to the energy business as well as having nationally tested professional engineering registration. He possesses advanced expertise in technical and economic project assessment and development. He has experience with over 60 large power systems projects, some exceeding 500 MW and $350 million in construction value. Over his career he has interfaced with most of the major U.S. engineering firms, major industrial firms, the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC), the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), and many State energy & regulatory agencies.

 

Specialty areas include power generation (steam turbines, gas turbines, and internal combustion engines) systems, cogeneration / CHP applications, commercial & industrial energy utilization & audits, HVAC-R systems, site power supply and emergency power systems, efficiency, environmental permitting, sustainability & renewable energy, central plant & district energy systems, and most utility issues (contracts, utility power supply systems, rates, regulation, etc.).

LB Services is an enterprise that seeks to assist clients in evaluating their facility's energy opportunities including both market supply and site utilization options. Focus is on assessing alternate applications as opposed to conventional practices. High efficient technology, environmental sustainability, and on-site power generation compliment the innovative opportunities brought on by market changes. Specialty applications include gas turbines, steam turbines, reciprocating engines, alternative & renewable generation, HVAC-R equipment, and boilers. Provide Engineering Expertise / Project Coordination and direction for entire Technical Support Department's 18 engineers and analysts located throughout the 4 state Entergy service territory. Projects include industrial and commercial power generation, electric technology application, energy utilization/ optimization, utility systems, and business development opportunities. Provided coordination of project interface with federal and state agencies, regulatory agency interface, state universities, including contracting and management of outside consultant services. Prime responsibility for all technical and financial interface negotiations on competitive customer contracts and internal specialty projects with typical gross revenue impacts exceeding $100 million in annual revenue value (~2000 dollars).
